Preservational refurbishment of the "Wasserburg Seebach"

The water castle dates back to the 12th century and was mentioned for the first time as in possession of Albert and Hermann von Seebach.

The castle became important when in 1884/85 Baron Hans von Berlepsch, known as the precursor of bird protection, arranged a bird sanctuary around the castle.

The southern tower was secured under aspects of engineering services in 2002. The ground floor ceiling and the external walls were fitted with peripheral tie beam system. At the same time, an historic exit in the cellar was restored and opened as an escape route from the stairs tower in the castle wall. The basement arch was turned into the entrance for the affiliated park. At present, the security and the restoration of the north tower is scheduled.
