Subject of discussion for this project is the conceptual idea to open up new potentials for the city development of Erfurt.

The project "GeraBogen" defines the basic needs of the citizens of Erfurt based on the creation of public spaces for recreation, the provision of spaces for the youth at urban insensitive areas and the improvement/ adjustment of quality of life to the adjacent housing estates.

In the course of a vitalization the unused central flooding ditch at the river Gera can therefore take over urban structural/ social tasks and open touristic/ economic potentials. In return the river bank turns into a symbiosis between identity (population/ housing estates) and attraction (tourists/ inner city).
